It seemed when I used to see charlie in the 70,s, not a lot of people were aware of how lucky they were to have a chance to be in his presence.

I remember one time charlie was talking about advanced techniques and mentioned that it took around 8 hours for maharishi to instruct charlie in a advanced technique.I seriously doubt it was because charlie was slow.

Charlie initiated students both in his presence and on the other planes of existence, charlie had his own light!

When the siddhi program first came out charlie was worried, but latter on I heard him say he was relieved that maharishi was not teaching the actual siddis that charlie had been given but that the techniques maharishi was giving were to increase unity consciousness.

When maharishi finished the second half the gita he had two copies he kept one and gave the other copy to charlie. charlie would read to us every friday night.

Charlie told us that maharishi was the master and not to forget it.

The most important thing I learned from charlie was that the greatness of a man or woman was determined by on thing and that was the transendental quality of his love.
with all graditude thank you charlie lutes

Following our TM initiation we heard several of Charles Lutes' introductory lectures when we were living in Los Angeles and they were always interesting and on topic.

What you need to understand is that Lute's was the president of the SRM and had nothing to do with the hippies that started up the SIMS. Charles Lutes was not a TM Teacher - he was an executive, speaker and a TM Guide.

However, the residence course we took with Charlie was very restful and effective in relieving some of the stress we incurred living in L.A. at the time.
